he legendary Nelson Mandela has it that EDUCATION IS THE MOST POWERFUL WEAPON FOR CHANGING THE WORLD. Suffix it to say that the much campaigned change being preached today at every forum in Nigeria is a mere lip service without taking a pragmatic action in stemming the continuous fall in the standard of education in Nigeria.

Poor reading culture especially among school children, examination malpractices and increased school drop-out syndrome are issues begging for attention in Nigeria. Among other causes, lack of interest in education among our youths is the chief reason for these malady. The continuous poor performance in WAEC examinations is the simple litmus test for these.

There is indeed a clarion call for well-meaning Nigerians to intervene and launch  a rescue mission to save the country  from the impending collapse in her youth education.  The Winners  Are Readers School Initiative is a strategic approach to rekindle students interest in education through a fun-filled (entertainment) approach.

 

Winners Are Readers School Initiative is an attitudinal/perception change movement within the school community aimed at building a population of Nigerian students who believe that true victory comes from education and enlightenment and not through corrupt practices.
